Dover’s best subject grade is an A for cost of living; its weakest is a D for health. On cost of living, just 22 of Tennessee’s 292 towns do better. Most errands need a car: it is less walkable than 76% of U.S. towns. No town among the 132 in Tennessee we compare has a lower property crime rate than Dover. 37% of the land in Dover is conserved, above both Tennessee’s towns (1.8%) and U.S. towns (4.3%). Fort Donelson National Battlefield and Samuel Stacker House is on the National Register of Historic Places. Dover has fewer than 2,500 residents, so it gets subject grades but no overall grade.
