Virginia towns list more on the Register than most of the country (a typical Virginia town has 3.6 per 10,000 residents, the U.S. 2.4), so Huntington’s 0.0 sits below most of its state (17% of Virginia towns have fewer) while its 0 listings outnumber those of 23% of U.S. towns.

How sure. Graded on two of the three inputs, so a change in either one moves the letter more than it would with three. The pre-1940 share (±1.0 points) is firm at this size.

The story so far

Huntington, in brief

Wikipedia doesn’t have a history of Huntington yet. The photos, dates and memories neighbors add here are how it gets written.

Huntington is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. As of the 2020 census, Huntington had a population of 13,749. It is located adjacent to the southern border of the city of Alexandria and is part of the Washington metropolitan area. Its main component is the namesake Huntington subdivision, a late-1940s neighborhood of mainly duplex homes. In June 2006, the lower-lying northern section was ravaged by floods due to a torrential rainstorm that sent adjoining Cameron Run over its banks. The Washington Metro's Yellow Line terminates at the Huntington Metro station. There are also several high-rise apartment and condominium complexes on and near U.S. Route…

Between the 2010 and 2020 censuses its population grew from 11,267 to 13,749 (+22%).
