Plenty in its favour, and one clear drawback. At B overall, Bunker Hill Village is better than 59% of U.S. towns and ranks 134th of 640 in Texas. Health is its strong suit (A+). It also does well on incomes: the median household earns $250K. The trade-off is cost of living (D−) — the typical home is worth about $2.0 million, 24.3 years of the Houston metro’s $82K median household income. Hazard risk is weaker too: FEMA rates its natural-hazard risk higher than 76% of U.S. communities, with inland flooding at the top. On history, just 22 of Texas’ 1,000 towns do worse. Bunker Hill Village's civic life (library use, community groups, volunteering) trails 93% of U.S. towns.
