What stands out about Michie’s past
Read from the archive, the National Register and the record. The page puts what stands out first.
Michie is rooted in a 19th century community known as "Monterey." When the community applied for a post office in 1881, the name Monterey had already been taken by another town in Tennessee, so the community settled on the name "Michie" after a prominent local family.
