New to Long Beach Schools

My family and I are excited to be moving to Long Beach and we're currently looking into the local schools, particularly the Long Beach Unified district which serves several high schools in the area, including Polytechnic High. We're trying to get a sense of which school might be the best fit for our kids. What advice can local parents offer about the schools in the area?
