Why does Tenafly grade so well?

Plenty to like here, at a price. Tenafly grades A overall, better than 94% of U.S. towns, and ranks 46th of 466 in New Jersey. Health is its strong suit (A+). The trade-off is cost of living: the typical home is worth about $1.3 million, 13.3 years of the New York metro’s $99K median household income. Only 43 of New Jersey’s 530 towns score higher on the outdoors. Nearly four in five adults 25 and older hold a bachelor’s degree or more locally, above both the New Jersey town median (45%) and the median of U.S. towns (29%). The town is more walkable than 97% of U.S. towns. The median household earns $208K.
