Is Menominee a good place to live?

Low prices, and some weak spots to weigh against them. Menominee grades C+ overall and ranks 436th of 697 in Michigan. On that grade it does better than 45% of U.S. towns. Its lowest grade is for health (C−): CDC estimates put its residents' health behind nearly four fifths of the country. It lags on incomes as well (C−): the median household income is $49K, and 16% of residents live below the poverty line. Walkability is its strong suit: it is easier to get around on foot or by transit than 91% of U.S. towns. Cost of living is a strength too (A−) — a typical home costs about $178K, 2.9 years of the Marinette area’s $61K median household income. Menominee's civic life (library use, community groups, volunteering) is stronger than in 93% of U.S. towns.
