Is Monteagle a good place to live?

The best of Monteagle’s subject grades is an A− for history; the weakest is a D for health. Among 178 Tennessee towns, just 4 have a lower July high than Monteagle. On history, just 19 of Tennessee’s 292 towns do better. The biggest park or preserve is Fiery Gizzard State Park Welcome Center, at 129 acres. Monteagle has fewer than 2,500 residents, so it gets subject grades but no overall grade.
