Desert Aire Family Fun

I was thinking of taking my kids out on this partly sunny Thursday and I realized I've never really explored all the outdoor spots Desert Aire has to offer. With our town's elevation at about 568 ft, I'm guessing there are some great spots to enjoy the views and get some exercise. What's the best local spot to take kids or a dog on a free afternoon like today?
