De Soto's Size and Heart

I was thinking about how De Soto is only 0.9 square miles in area, which seems small, but sometimes when I'm out and about, it feels like there's more to our village than the map lets on. Does anyone else feel like the heart of our town is really centered around a particular spot, like maybe near our local schools or the brewery on Rt 51, and what do you think makes that spot feel so central to our community?
