New to Hampshire Schools

We just moved to Hampshire and are trying to get a sense of the local schools for our kids. I was impressed to see that Hampshire High School is part of Community Unit School District 300, which seems to have a good reputation. What advice would you give us as a family new to the area about navigating the school district here?
