Exploring Our Little Town

With the beautiful weather we're having, like tonight's sunny 61 degrees, I was thinking of getting out and enjoying the area with my kids. Given that we have such a short commute to work, I'm guessing many of us have some extra free time in the afternoons. What's the best local spot to take kids on a free afternoon like this?
