Is Jefferson a good place to live?

Jefferson gives you more for your money than most places: homes are within reach, about $232K for a typical one, or 3.3 years of the Cleveland metro’s $71K median household income. It grades B− overall, 640th among Ohio's 987 graded towns. The low prices come with trade-offs. Residents are less healthy than 80% of U.S. towns on CDC estimates. On the plus side, natural-hazard risk is low. History is its standout character grade: an A, better than 92% of U.S. towns, with 4 places on the National Register. Jefferson’s median age is 49.3 years, against 41.7 years in Ohio’s towns and 40.5 years across U.S. towns. Most errands need a car: it is less walkable than 79% of U.S. towns. Jefferson's civic life (library use, community groups, volunteering) is stronger than in 84% of U.S. towns.
