Is Albion a good place to live?

Albion gives you more for your money than most places: a typical home costs about $82K, 1.1 years of the Rochester metro’s $76K median household income. It grades C overall, 587th of 745 graded towns in New York. The low prices come with trade-offs. The median household income is $42K, and 18% of residents live below the poverty line, and residents are less healthy than 78% of U.S. towns on CDC estimates. On the plus side, natural-hazard risk is low. History is its standout character grade: an A+, better than 96% of U.S. towns. Albion’s trail network density is 1.0 miles per square mile, where New York’s towns sit at 0.4 and U.S. towns at 0.4. Only 6 of the 757 New York towns we compare have a lower middle household income than Albion. The biggest park or preserve is Bullard Park, at 29 acres.
